With sadness of hearts, souls and mind, the members of the Watson, Reeves and Cassell families of the USA and Liberia announce the home going of their beloved son, father, brother, nephew, cousin and uncle, Arnold Hansford Saydee Watson aka “Handful” who passed away on July 9, 2022, at the Benson Hospital in Paynesville City, Liberia. Handful as he was affectionately called was predeceased by his biological parents, Major Wilmot W. Watson and Madam Theresa Reeves-Cassell aka ‘Sister T’. He is survived by his adopted parents, Mr. Arthur K. Watson and Mrs. Annie G. Watson, a son, Arnold Hansford Saydee Watson, Jr. and a daughter. He is also survived by Several siblings including Ms. Evelyn Maima Cassell, Rev. Varney Alvin Abayomi Cassell, I, Victoria Cassell, Joseph A. Cassell, Edith N. Cassell, Edwina Cassell, Bendu A. Watson, Arthur K. Watson, Jr., Wilmot A. Watson, Alexander Z. Watson, and Juah Nimene. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, close friends and loved ones.
Arnold was born and raised in Monrovia, Liberia. After the 1990 civil crisis, he lived most of his youthful life within the Lakpazee community. He was a very friendly, caring, loving, dedicated and respectful person. Although his passing brings us much pain and sorrow, we can celebrate Handful’s life with gratitude to God for the time we shared with him. We know that he now rests peacefully with his parents, and other family members who have predeceased him.
May his soul continue to rest in perfect peace.
