The Johnson, Dunor, and Jackson families regret to announce the home-going of Gertrude Fatu Johnson, our beloved mother, aunt, sister, niece, and cousin. This sad event occurred at her home in Jonesboro, GA. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.

Fatu leaves to mourn her loss daughter Judith Massa Fofana; Aunties – Johnetta Hoff-Moore, Gladys Johnson, Victoria Cheeks, and Kolla Massalley; Uncles – J. Rudolph Johnson, David Johnson, Jackson Karmo, Kpehe Karmo, and Jusu Karneh; Brothers – Emmanuel, Sumu, Alhaji, Musa, Momoh, and Charles; Sisters – Johnetta, Sangay (Victoria), and Meisimi; Cousins Bendu (Rene), Essence, Keimah, Meisimi, Siafa, Siaka, Lisa, Rudolph (Mahbu), Rudolph (Siafa) Buela, Phillip (Fomba), Rosalia, Samanta, Jacquelyn, Tito, Bai T., Mamai, Korpo, Frances, Fatima, Margaret, James, Bendu, Helen, Kumba, Fatuma, Lionel, Annie, William, Bonno, Mento, Victor, and Jackson.

Fatu also leaves to mourn her loss many other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and a host of friends in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ghana, and the United States. She was predeceased by the following family members: Mr. J. Sumu Johnson II (father), Ms. Helen Jackson (mother), Bunchie Johnson (sister), and Ms. Bendu Jones (sister). “F2” as she was affectionately known, was dearly loved and cherished; she will be sorely missed by us all who celebrate her life and her transition to Heaven.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks are required at the church and internment. The church implements social distancing at all times and seating is limited to 100 individuals. The service will be live streamed via Zoom.
