Lafayette E. Roberts was born on December 29, 1959, in Monrovia, Liberia, to Merial A. Roberts and Lafayette P. Roberts Sr. For his primary education He attended St. Peter Claver (Catholics) School in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, Liberia. He Later attended Bassa high school and Booker Washington Institute (BWI). Among those who recognized his hard work was his uncle, who recommended him to Lamco for a job. A few years after joining Lamco, he was promoted to Payroll manager. He worked for Lamco until 1990, when the Liberian civil war caused the company to close suddenly. Lafayette was married to Tripuella Morgan and together they raised six incredible children who were the pride and joy of his life.
Lafayette migrated to the United States in 2004 after living in Ghana for more than a decade. While in the United States, Lafayette gained employment with Trane Technologies in Trenton, NJ. He worked there for 18 years, until he became ill in February of 2022.
Lafayette was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He leaves to mourn his loss, his loving wife of 34 years, his daughters, Patience Roberts Cole, Tomah Roberts, Kimmah Roberts, Deamah Roberts; sons, Lafayette Jr. and Prince Roberts, Grandsons, Ryan and Roland Cole; Sisters, Matilda, Algatha , Juliette, and Louise Roberts; Brothers, Zack and Wesley Roberts; cousins, nieces and nephews, and numerous relatives and friends in the United States and Liberia.
