Sunrise March 30, 1942- Sunset, January 21, 2021

“When peace like a river attendeth my way- when sorrow like sea billows roll-
Whatever my lot, thou hast tought me to say it is well, it is well, with my soul.

Its is with heavy heart and much sadness but with thanksgiving for a life well lived, that the Monyoukaye, Johnson, White, Lloyd, Smallwood, Karr, Vohor, Jacobs, Tarr, Kpeh and Gboh families, regret to announce the death of their beloved husband, super hero father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin; James Monyoukaye Sr. who went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2021.

Predeceased by his parents, Jimmy Monyoukaye and Sleh D. Johnson, our hearts may not have been ready but his wings were as he transitioned to be with our Lord. His legacy will always be remembered and cherished by his beloved and devoted wife, Julia Rose White Monyoukaye. Six children, Geneva Monyoukaye, James Monyoukaye Jr., Dehkonte Monyoukaye, Nejay Monyoukaye, Yavoe Kumeh (Vincent) and Julius Monyoukaye. Nine grandchildren, six greatgrandchildren, one brother, Denia Monyoukaye, one sister, Sadayma Monyoukaye and a host of other relitives and friends including a special niece, Racheal B. Johnson and Nephew, James T. Monyoukaye.

Procession will be from the St. Moses Funeral Home on Somalia Drive in Gardnersville on Saturday, February 27,2021 at 9:00 am. Funeral service is scheduled to be held at 9:30 am at St. Simon Baptist Church located on Horton Ave, Capital By-Pass. Burial will be at Kadumah Cemetery in Barnersville.
