It is with deep regrets that the Lloyd, and Mitchell families announce the passing of the late    Rev. Dr. J. Edwin Lloyd, Sr., former President of the Liberia National Red Cross Society, first Director-General of the National Bureau of Veterans Affairs, Republic of Liberia, former Chaplain General of the Armed Forces of Liberia, former Chairman of the City Council of Paynesville, founding member of the Liberia Council of Churches, and Pastor of the Hopeful Baptist Church in Schieffelin, Margibi County, Liberia.Â
The veteran Liberian clergyman, and statesman transitioned on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in Olney Maryland. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Mrs. Emma Mitchell Lloyd, along with a loving family including his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and loved ones.Â
