The Washington and Kennedy families announce with great sadness the transitioning from life of our beloved Seyon Toe Sarti Washington on Friday, July 8, 2022, 5:30AM at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, Darby, PA.

He was predeceased by his father, Ambassador George Toe Washington; mother, Wloh Juah Gbehe, brothers; Seth Toe Washington, Archie Washington; Ben Washington, sister; Theresa B. Washington; his mother-in-law Mrs. Nancy Greene Nortey, and sister-in-law Mabel Nortey Kaizolu.

Mourning his loss are his wife Mrs.Vivian Kennedy Washington; children: Donald, Juah, and Senique; step-son Cyril Cooper; two granddaughters (Alanna and Gizele Madeah Cooper who adored him); brothers-in-law Humphrey Nortey, Jr., Kojo Nortey; sister-in-law Mrs. Orison Nortey-Bolden; Mrs. Mabel Nortey Kaizolu; the Washington, Browne, Toe, Doe, Wotorson, Nebo, Nimely, and Minikon families.

We are grateful for your prayers and messages of condolences at this difficult time.

SEYON’s memory will remain in our hearts. May his soul rest peacefully.

I was shocked to have learned about the passing of this unassuming gentleman. I got to know Mr. Washington in 2001 while the both of us were employees of the same company outside Philadelphia. We last met in southwest Philadelphia at a function prior to the pandemic. He was a great man; My prayers and thoughts are with the family during this difficulty time.
